As a UCSF/Stanford trained MD with a PhD equivalent and NSCA certified strength and conditioning professional and certified nutritionist I agree with you on much of this but you are dead wrong and in the back of the class in vanguard thinking if you are not aware of the new research demonstrating the benefits of the properly performed deadlift…not only as a multijoint kinetic chain exercise that is core in glute, hamstring and quadricep building but has been shown to build explosive plyometric power in jumpers and other athletes dependent on lower body anaerobic capacity. The deadlift was featured on the cover of Time’s digital newsletter in February 2015 and is the topic of discussion and a number of YouTube videos. The NSCA Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research found that those who performed the exercise twice a week for ten weeks experienced specific measurable benefits in torque maneuvers. Stronglifts.com called the deadlift the definitive exercise and offers detailed information on how to properly perform them.
