This is an absolutely brilliant treatise and I am especially impressed it is written by an MD…and not a registered dietician. I have been studying the concepts of both caloric restriction and intermittent fasting and do not find it necessary to practice one rather than the other. Why not reduce caloric intake to the amount necessary to maintain a healthy body composition while at the same time practicing intermittent fasting the way I do…simply stop eating after 8pm every night and do not eat breakfast until 8am. Voila…12 hour nightly fast!
