This is an excellent motivational writing but I assure you as a Stanford UCSF ABEM certified ER doctor who worked emergency and trauma centers for 20 years and ultimately faced the devastating impacts of circadian rhythm sleep disturbances from shift work disorder and occupational stress…there is no sound physiological research that supports people ignoring the needs of their biological clock! It is primitive and it wants you to go to sleep when the sun goes down and get up when the sun rises. Chronic deviations from this circadian rhythm reduce life expectancy and promote metabolic disturbances like the metabolic syndrome I suffered from when I was forced to abandon the injurious impacts of a 24 hour on demand lifestyle! Success and ambition are not linked to how early you wake up. Your productivity in a given day can be focused during normal human sleep wake cycles!
