This is so deeply profound! I feel it in the depths of my soul when I read it’s lyrical wisdom. I recently found myself crying uncontrollably after reading in the New York Times that famed neurosurgeon Charles Wilson died after living a superhuman life of accomplishment. I had received an autographed copy of his biography Cherokee Neurosurgeon authored by my friend, colleague and “personal neurosurgeon” Brian Andrews, MD (who performed my anterior cervical discectomy after I developed disabling symptoms of a myeloradiculopathy). I reflected on end of life and the intersection of art and science.
